‘Lets toast to Dutch Extravagance!’

We recently collaborated with the talented Marcelle Smith from The Toast Enterprise for our first annual BIRTHDAY Shoot at the captivating Eben-haëzer Estate near Paarl.  All coordination and event management was done by Marcelle, who hand selected all the necessary service providers for this unique event.

The 2 brands have collaborated in the past, as Marcelle developed the distinctive corporate Identity for GELIEFT-Bruid & Prêt-a-Porter.  The outcome was such a success, that we knew there will definitely be future collaborations.  Both brands are still youthful and both favor collaborations with other creatives and see it as a way of brand development.

The basic concept for the shoot was conjured by GELIEFT, envisioning a true celebration of womanliness in the ambiance of a beautifully styled setting! Our inspiration derived from a muse that’s the epitome of lady-like glamour with contemporary exquisiteness.  She’s confident, determined and sensually demure. Marcelle was very enthusiastic to push the envelope for this unique project, and she definitely exceeded our expectations!

We invited 20 of our past clients, all brides, to accompany their bespoke gowns and partake in this extraordinary day!  As it would be the ultimate event for every bride, to wear her beautiful wedding gown again and feel like a princess!  All the brides excitedly replied on the invitation, and soon there was a line-up of 15 Real Brides.

Time was of the essence and the shoot was planned in less than 9 days from concept to execution!  The day was filled with joy, laughter and flashing lights of cameras capturing the essence of every bride.  The 15 Brides and 3 models was all effortlessly styled by freelance stylist Jane Kotze and 5 dedicated Hair and Make-up Artists.  All the stills were photographed by 2 notorious photographers, Jan Ras and Guido Schwarz.  All the detail of the day was meticulously video documented by Theunis Stofberg.

The event décor was styled by Marcelle and had an understated French feel, set against the authentic Dutch architecture of the venue, with a colour palette ranging from mauve pinks, sultry nudes, charcoals to black. All Occasions at no.99 and Detail Interior Design supplied all the floral installations and furniture. All confectionary delights were supplied by Louise Veldhuizen owner of Mila – The Cakeshop.

We want to thank all the dedicated Hair and Make-up Artists for their contribution:  Anna Pepper from The Refinery, Jane Jessica Field, Nicola Loots, Melony Erwee and Shani Wehl.

Thanks Jane Kotze for styling all the ensembles. Everyone looked STUNNING! Accessories supplied by Boezaart Jewelry Couture, Jade, Lily Blue and Zuyda van Dyk

Last but not the least we want to thank all the brides (Marlé Baard, Carolise van Huysteen, Jacolize de Villiers, Michelle Barnard, Rina-Marie van Velden, Lauren Schoeman, Estelle Wasserfall, Lauren Marais, Lize Marais, Anneli Peters, Sanette Boer, Carlien Coetzee and Johannita Eksteen) and models (Marilet Kruger, Ivanette Britz and Lucea van Huysteen) that was part of this beautiful day! Without you, it wouldn’t have been possible to create something as spectular! May you be blessed!
